Greetings from The Gates Board of Directors!

Your board of directors has been busy! Although not everything is visual, we are working behind the scenes to make The Gates a better place to live!
Things you may have noticed:
  • Painting of Association-owned Posts & GA Power Light Posts
  • RV Storage Lot Improvements
  • Roadway Improvements
Projects we are working on:
  • Pool Deck Replacement
  • Replacing the Frog in the Playground (on backorder)
  • Cleaning of Storm Drains

We are seeking volunteers for the following:

  • Flag Committee (New)
    • 1 or 2 Volunteers
  • Social Committee (1 member today)
    • 2 Volunteers
Being a volunteer doesn't take much time. Please get in touch with the Board if you are interested.

Halloween

Halloween
To align with the City of Pooler, The Gates will observe Halloween on Saturday, October 30th, from 6 PM - 9 PM.

Kick-off Trick or Treating at the Clubhouse!
Board Members will be there from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, giving out treats!
If you plan on giving out candy, please leave your lights on so trick-or-treaters know which houses to go to, and if you do not plan on giving out candy, please turn off your lights.

Roadway / RV Storage Lot Improvements

We appreciate your patience during the improvement process. Rain and staffing issues caused delays that were out of our control.

Roadways
As you have noticed, several areas on Gateway Drive were repaired. We understand the repaired areas stand out against our 15-year-old pavement. Over time these areas will fade and will become less of an eyesore.

RV Storage Lot
Improvements to the storage lot have been completed!

Improvements included:
  • Grading and Leveling
  • Tree removal to maximize parking
  • Installing Asphalt Millings
  • Parking Bumpers
  • Signed Spaces
  • Paving the road to the RV Lot
In addition to the above, several areas had to be dug out and recompacted due to weak soil.

Now that construction is complete, all recreational vehicles such as; boats, RV's, campers, trailers, etc., are no longer permitted to park at an individual's residence or the clubhouse parking lot.

Pool News

The 2021 pool season came to a close on Saturday, October 2nd.

Community Reminders

  • Yard Maintenance, please remove all grass clippings from the street.
  • Please do not allow your pets to roam free; pets must be on a leash if not within a fenced yard.
  • Parents, please ensure your children are picking up after their pets during walks.
  • For the safety of all, please abide by all traffic signs within the community.
  • Do Not Feed the Geese!
  • Burning material of any kind is prohibited on any homesite or common property.
  • Please help keep our community clean by picking up any trash you see.
  • The board does not manage the community's Facebook page. Have a board-related concern or question? Email the Board or Sentry Mgt.
  • Visitors should use the appropriate means to enter the community and refrain from entering through the Exit Gate.

Did you know?

  • The Gates has a website: https://thegatesatsavannahquarters.com/.
  • Before making any additions or modifications to the exterior of your property, including the removal of trees, you will need to gain approval from the Architectural Control Committee (ACC). More information can be found on the community website or contact Sentry Mgt.
    • The ACC has expanded the Exterior Color Pallet. Check out the new color pallet on the website.
  • All trash/recycle bins should be removed from the curb within 24hrs, after pick up and should be stored out of view from the street. Visit atlanticwaste.com/pooler for pick-up schedules. Items must be placed in your Bin(s) for pick up. Yard Waste should be placed in brown paper bags.
  • Pet waste stations can be located to the left of the clubhouse, at the triangle, and outside the rear gate. Pet waste contains a variety of diseases. Pet waste that is not disposed of properly carries these contaminants into our waterways. Parks, trails, your back yard, and common areas in the community can be damaged by pet waste. Unlike waste from wild animals, pet waste does not biodegrade quickly.
  • You need to notify the board if you need to park at the clubhouse overnight or require the use of a POD.
    • We all love a little R&R; please be courteous to your neighbors and minimize noise levels after 9 PM.

    Hurricane Season Ends on November 30th.
